The 2026 La Laguna Book Fair will host its largest edition in 15 years from October 8 to 12, featuring 50 exhibitors and over 200 cultural activities to strengthen the Canary Islands' literary industry.

The La Laguna Book Fair is gearing up for its 2026 edition, aiming to become a leading event for the region. Taking place from October 8 to 12 at the Plaza del Cristo, the fair is expanding its reach by inviting bookstores from Gran Canaria, a move designed to strengthen the book industry across the Canary Islands.

The event is organized by the La Laguna City Council and the Provincial Association of Bookstores of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (APROLITE), with support from the Tenerife Island Council, the Canary Islands Institute of Cultural Development, and the General Directorate of Commerce. For the second year in a row, the fair has earned the "National Network of Book Fairs" seal, a mark of quality that highlights its professional growth.

This year’s fair is set to be the largest in 15 years, featuring 50 exhibitors—including 30 bookstores and 20 publishers. Visitors can look forward to more than 200 activities, ranging from comics, illustration, and poetry to workshops designed to engage younger readers and audiences of all ages.

The guest list features a mix of local and national talent. Notable Canarian authors like Alicia Llarena, Cecilia Domínguez Luis, José Miguel Perera, Pedro Flores, Santiago Gil, and Víctor Álamo de la Rosa will appear alongside national writers such as Manuel Vilas, Helena Resano, Andrea Abreu, Nerea Pérez de las Heras, Pol Guasch, Lana Corujo, Aida González Rossi, and Angelo Nestore.

Beyond the book stalls, the organizers are launching a campaign called "The Book of Your Life." This initiative encourages readers to reflect on how literature has shaped their lives, from childhood memories to books that changed their perspectives. By combining commerce with these personal connections, the fair aims to remain a vital cultural hub for the La Laguna community.
