The San Cristóbal de La Laguna City Council has announced that this Sunday’s San Isidro Labrador Pilgrimage in Guamasa will require significant traffic changes to ensure the event runs safely.
To prepare for the parade, parking will be prohibited along the entire route starting at 6:00 a.m. By 10:00 a.m., the parade route and all connecting streets will be closed to vehicle traffic. Local police will be on-site to direct drivers toward signposted alternative routes.
The procession is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. near the local church. Participants will travel along Calle Santa Rosa de Lima, Camino El Majano (TF-156), and Paseo de las Acacias before returning to the starting point. Please note that authorities may adjust road closures or reopenings depending on the progress of the event or any safety concerns that may arise.
Following the parade, the celebration will continue with an open-air dance featuring performances by the orchestras Los Cadetes and Gomeray. This event is a highlight of Guamasa’s cultural calendar, requiring careful coordination between the city and local services to balance the traditional festivities with the needs of the community.
