The La Laguna City Council will broadcast the Spain vs. Belgium World Cup quarter-final match on large screens during the traditional San Benito Abad "Baile de Magos" festival, adjusting the event schedule to accommodate the game.

Organizing large events in public spaces often requires some flexibility to balance local traditions with major sporting milestones. To avoid a scheduling clash this Friday, the La Laguna City Council has decided to incorporate the broadcast of the Spain vs. Belgium World Cup quarter-final match into the traditional San Benito Abad "Baile de Magos" (Magicians' Dance).

To ensure attendees can enjoy both the folk festival and the football, the council is adjusting the event schedule. Musical performances, originally set for 9:15 p.m., will be pushed back to accommodate the match, which kicks off at 8:00 p.m.

To help everyone follow the game, the city will install three large screens at key locations: the main stage in front of La Concepción church, the area near Plaza Pedro Zerolo, and the "parrandas" zone on Calle Marqués de Celada. Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez explained that the decision follows the success of similar screenings during the 2010 World Cup and the recent European Championship, noting that the goal is to encourage a shared, festive atmosphere.

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. to allow crowds to settle in comfortably. This initiative highlights the careful planning required to host major public events in historic city centers while honoring local customs.
