La Guancha will revive the Tenerife Murguera Festival in its original style on Saturday, March 14, at the Plus Ultra Pavilion, featuring six prominent murguera groups and free entry.

La Guancha is bringing back the Tenerife Murguera Festival in its original style, showing its strong commitment to local culture and carnival traditions. The town council announced that this tenth edition, a key event on the island, will take place on Saturday, March 14, at the Plus Ultra Pavilion. Entry is free until the venue reaches full capacity.

The festival aims to bring together well-known Carnival groups from the north of the island. It's also welcoming back its original organizers, Darío Hernández and José Félix Hernández, who will once again handle the artistic direction. The Department of Culture and Festivals, led by Alejandro Hernández, is organizing the event in collaboration with these mentors.

Six highly respected murguera groups from Tenerife have confirmed they will perform: Trapaseros, Bambones, Tiralenguas, Diablos Locos, Irónicos, and Chaladas. This move to bring back the festival's original spirit follows a previous plan by the City Council for 2025, which would have renamed it "Noche de Murgas" (Night of Murgas). Although that proposal aimed to save money, it moved away from the event's original character. The town government's current decision shows its commitment to cultural revitalization and to an event that has grown over the years into one of the island's most important murguera gatherings.
