La Guancha Gears Up for Magical Three Kings' Celebration
La Guancha is preparing for its traditional Three Kings' Parade on January 5th, featuring nearly 100 participants, a noise-free section, and a Hebrew Market, culminating in the Kings greeting children.
La Guancha is gearing up for one of its most anticipated and magical nights of the year on January 5th: the arrival of the Three Wise Men. The traditional Three Kings' Parade will involve nearly 100 people, including volunteers, security staff, and local council employees.
The Culture and Sports departments of La Guancha Town Council want to thank volunteers from local clubs and associations for their help. These include Amoserco, Agrupación Musical La Esperanza, C.B. Guancha, C.D. Guancha, and Magic Dance. The Santa Catalina fanfare will also be part of the celebration.
The parade will kick off at 7:00 PM from Los Pinos street in the Montefrío area. From there, the Three Kings and their royal entourages will follow the usual route.
The first stop will be at Plaza de La Asomada, where the much-anticipated meeting with King Herod will take place – an event making a return this year. To create a more inclusive and respectful atmosphere, especially for those sensitive to noise, the Town Council has set aside a 'noise-free' section of the route. This quiet zone will run from the junction of Doctor Fleming street and El Vínculo street.
After this, the parade will head towards the central Ángeles Machado square. Here, the Adoration of the Child will be re-enacted, another traditional moment that is being brought back this year. A new feature this year is that the Kings will then travel along La Alhóndiga street, which will be transformed into a Hebrew Market for the event. Finally, they will reach Church Square for a welcome ceremony. Here, the Three Wise Men will greet every child in La Guancha, bringing this very special night to a magical close.
La Guancha Mayor, Alejandro Herrera, said: "We hope the weather allows us to hold the parade as planned. But if not, we have an alternative: the Three Wise Men will be welcomed at the Plus Ultra sports pavilion." He also added: "It's very important for La Guancha Town Council to thank all the volunteers in advance. They are the ones who will make this magical night of January 5th possible in our town."
