La Gran Manzana Commercial Complex to Open in Las Chafiras on July 23

The new La Gran Manzana commercial complex in the heart of Las Chafiras is set to transform the economy of San Miguel de Abona. Mayor Arturo González confirmed that the center will open on July 23, following his final inspection of the site’s construction and interior finishing.

This project is a major milestone for the municipality, as it is the first facility of its size in the area. Designed to hold up to 1,632 people at once, the center is strategically located less than ten kilometers from Tenerife South Airport. This position allows it to serve both local residents and the steady stream of visitors traveling through the south of the island.

The building is spread across four levels. Two floors are dedicated to parking, featuring space for 1,000 vehicles and 50 electric car charging stations. The remaining two floors are reserved for retail and leisure, including a 1,200-square-meter supermarket, a dining area, and a four-screen cinema. The complex also features a 10,000-square-meter roof, with 7,000 square meters dedicated to technical services.

Beyond expanding local shopping options, the project is expected to create jobs and further establish Las Chafiras as a key business hub in southern Tenerife. Local officials believe the complex will boost the economy by keeping consumer spending within the municipality while attracting visitors from neighboring towns.
