KGM Enters Canary Islands Market with New Musso EVX and Torres Actyon SUV
KGM has officially entered the Canary Islands market with the launch of the Musso EVX electric pick-up and the Torres Actyon SUV, marking a strategic expansion of the brand's electrified vehicle lineup in Spain.
KGM has officially entered the Canary Islands market with the launch of its new Musso EVX pick-up and Torres Actyon SUV. Announced at the Maspalomas Aeroclub, this move marks a major shift in the Korean brand’s electrification strategy for Spain. By updating its lineup, KGM aims to tap into the growing demand for dual-use vehicles across the islands.
The Musso EVX leads the brand’s push toward electric mobility for both work and leisure. It offers two configurations: a 207 hp rear-wheel-drive model and a 414 hp all-wheel-drive version. With 630 Nm of torque, it is built to handle the islands' challenging terrain. Its 80.6 kWh battery provides an estimated range of 420 km (WLTP), helping to ease concerns about long-distance electric travel. Beyond its 900-kilogram payload capacity, the truck features a modern cabin with dual 12.3-inch screens and level 2.5 driver-assistance systems. Starting at 31,969 euros, KGM hopes to offer a strong, competitive alternative to traditional gas-powered trucks.
Alongside the pick-up, the brand introduced the Torres Actyon, a coupe-style SUV designed for urban drivers. This hybrid model prioritizes efficiency and space, boasting a generous 796-liter trunk. The launch event, which included an artistic performance at the aeroclub, highlighted how KGM is blending battery technology with the practical needs of island drivers.
As the Spanish automotive industry works toward decarbonization, brands must adapt to the unique geography and infrastructure of regions like the Canary Islands. By including features like a high-strength steel chassis and seven airbags in the Musso EVX, KGM is raising the bar for quality in the pick-up segment, moving beyond pure utility to offer greater comfort and safety. With these two new models, KGM Canarias is balancing the need for rugged work vehicles with the rising demand for efficient, high-tech transport.
