Spanish duo K-Narias are celebrating their 20th anniversary by releasing a modern reimagining of their 2006 hit "Salsa Con Reggaetón," featuring collaborations with rising stars from the Canary Islands.
Spanish urban music is taking a trip down memory lane. The duo K-Narias has announced they are revisiting one of their biggest early hits, Canaria Soy, to bridge the gap between the genre’s origins two decades ago and the sounds dominating today’s charts.
The new track, arriving on streaming platforms this Friday, is a fresh take on Salsa Con Reggaetón. That 2006 song first launched Gara and Loida to international fame, finding success in markets like Mexico, Colombia, and the United States. This release is part of 80 entre las 2, an album celebrating the sisters' 20-year career. For this update, they teamed up with producer Juacko and three prominent figures from the current Canary Islands scene: Ptazeta, Bejo, and Juseph.
More than just a musical update, the project highlights the importance of regional identity in Spanish urban music. While the original song was a tribute to the artists' roots, this version translates that message into the rhythmic and aesthetic style of 2026. By collaborating with a younger generation of artists, the duo successfully blends the foundations of early Spanish reggaeton with the modern evolution of the genre.
The release coincides almost exactly with the 20th anniversary of the original song, which debuted on September 27, 2006. The project is accompanied by a music video filmed at the Tagoror restaurant and directed by Brook Sidney.
