The Orfeón La Paz has named the musical duo K-Narias as the recipients of the 38th Canary Woman award, which will be presented this Monday at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna.

The Orfeón La Paz of La Laguna has named Gara and Loida Hernández Rubio—the duo known as K-Narias—as the winners of the 38th Canary Woman award. Part of the San Benito Abad festival, the honor recognizes the sisters for their successful careers in the reggaeton and urban music scene, both in Spain and internationally.

The award, supported by the La Laguna City Council, will be presented this Monday at 8:00 p.m. during a gala at the Teatro Leal.

The ceremony will celebrate La Laguna’s cultural traditions and will be hosted by presenter and filmmaker Mercedes Ortega. The evening’s performances will feature a mix of local talent, including the Real Hespérides Folk Group, soloist Sislena Caparrosa, the Orfeón La Paz Rondalla, and timple player Pedro Izquierdo, accompanied by a plucked string ensemble.

By honoring artists from the urban music genre, the Orfeón La Paz highlights the evolution of Canarian identity, bridging the gap between traditional local culture and the global success of the islands' modern creators.
