The Leal Theater in La Laguna will host actor and director Joel Angelino's new show, "Be Happy, Not Normal," this Sunday, February 1st, at 7:00 PM. In this performance, the Cuban artist reflects on the challenging world of performing arts, a field he has dedicated 35 years of his professional life to. The show is a multidisciplinary blend of monologue and original songs.
Using humor and following a timeline, Joel Angelino will explore themes such as loneliness, inclusion, family, the importance of evolving, the feeling of freedom, and the search for happiness. Through various characters, he presents a show that combines set design, contemporary dance, and music, aiming to reveal his inner world to the audience.
"Be Happy, Not Normal" features musical direction by Argimiro Sánchez, lighting by Víctor Martín, and production and visual elements by Marco Toledo. For this occasion, Joel Angelino is also collaborating with Cuban actress and presenter Dayana Legrá.
