Jet2.com is establishing a new base at London Gatwick in 2026, significantly increasing flight options to Tenerife and other Spanish destinations for British travelers.

Tenerife is becoming an even more popular holiday spot for Brits. Jet2.com is launching a new base at London Gatwick Airport in 2026, which will include three direct flights each week to Tenerife South Airport.

Steve Heapy, the CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said this move is a "great chance to offer more travel choices from the UK to Spain." He also stated it will help the company become the top tour operator connecting the Canary Islands with the British market.

From its new Gatwick base, Jet2.com will also fly to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura twice a week. Additionally, there will be seven other routes to popular spots in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands, like Malaga, Alicante, and Mallorca.

Heapy pointed out that "London has a massive number of people who want to travel to Spain." He added that Jet2.com will now offer flights from three London airports, giving British holidaymakers and island residents more flexible and cheaper ways to travel to and from the English capital.
