The Spanish bookstore El Barco de Papel will host a meeting with Javier Castillo, where he will present his new novel "Whisper of Fire," inspired by the Canary Islands.

The El Barco de Papel bookstore invites you to a meeting with the famous Spanish writer Javier Castillo. He will present his new novel "Whispers of Fire," the events of which unfold in the Canary Islands, particularly in Tenerife.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 15, at 7:00 PM in the El Sauzal Theater. Admission is free, but an invitation is required. It can be obtained at the El Barco de Papel bookstore in Sauzal from last Monday.

"Whispers of Fire" is the author's first book set in Spain. Castillo said that the inspiration came from a family trip to the Canary Islands. He was impressed by the volcanic landscapes, climate, local cuisine, and culture. The book's press release states that Teide National Park, Los Gigantes, the Path of the Senses, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, and the astronomical observatory became special places for the story of two twin brothers united by love and pain.

The novel begins in 2019 in Tenerife. Twins Mario and Laura Ardoz arrive in the Canary Islands. Mario has just finished a course of chemotherapy, and Laura believes that this trip will help them start a new life after her illness. But Mario relapses and is hospitalized. After being discharged, he learns that Laura has disappeared, and her phone shows that she is in a deserted area covered in lava. Thus begins a race against time and a fight against fire.

The meeting with the writer is organized by the El Barco de Papel bookstore.

The Tourism and Employment Council of the Autonomous Government supported the promotion of "Whispers of Fire." To this end, an advertising campaign was created that went beyond ordinary advertising. The book was presented at the Callao cinema in Madrid, attended by over 700 people, including journalists, cultural figures, and readers. The presentation featured the writer, actors Maxi Iglesias and Pedro Alonso, who read excerpts from the book, and singer Vera GRV, a Latin Grammy nominee, who performed a musical number.

This presentation was the culmination of a major advertising campaign on radio, YouTube, and social media. The collaboration between the writer and the Tourism Council was announced in July, when a large banner was placed in the center of Madrid.
