Isla Calavera Film Festival Launches Early-Bird Passes for 10th Anniversary Edition

The Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and organizers have officially launched early-bird passes for the event, which runs in Tenerife from November 6 to 15. This "blind-sale" approach—offering full passes for 100 euros before the program is announced—is a popular way for genre festivals to reward loyal fans who want to guarantee their spot at every screening and event.

Passes can be purchased online via the festival’s website and Multicines Tenerife, or in person at the box office. A pass covers the Official Selection of feature films and shorts, as well as the documentary, classics, Panorama, and "Made in the Canary Islands" sections. It also includes entry to the opening and closing galas at the Teatro Leal, access to the Fan Zone, and opportunities to meet special guests. Once the full schedule is released, pass holders will be able to reserve their specific seats, subject to theater capacity.

This year’s anniversary lineup features several major international stars. Actors Christopher Lambert and Tom Berenger will attend to receive honorary awards, joined by cult filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment and Spanish horror icon Lone Fleming. While Barbara Crampton and Joanna Cassidy have had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts, organizers are still working on adding more guests in the coming weeks.

Organized by the Charlas de Cine Cultural Association, Multicines Tenerife, and Tumbaabierta.com, the festival has become a highlight of Tenerife’s cultural calendar. It is supported by a partnership between the La Laguna City Council, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and various film and tourism organizations. The festival’s continued success highlights the growing popularity of fantastic cinema in the region and the vital role niche events play in diversifying local culture.
