Isla Calavera Festival Announces 10th Anniversary Lineup with 'The Princess Bride' Screening

The Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival is gearing up for its tenth edition, running from November 6 to 15. To kick things off, organizers are hosting a special event on July 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Multicines Tenerife in the Alcampo La Laguna Shopping Center. The evening will feature a screening of the cult classic The Princess Bride.

Organized in partnership with Wilder Cinema, the event is more than just a movie night; it is a tribute to director Rob Reiner and his significant impact on modern storytelling. Following the film, there will be a discussion and a live performance of the theme song, "Storybook Love," by guitarist Freddy Matos.

The event will also serve as a preview for the upcoming festival. Management plans to announce new guest stars, adding to the already confirmed lineup of international icons: Christopher Lambert (Highlander), Tom Berenger (Platoon), and Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner). These stars will take part in special tributes and Q&A sessions during the festival in November.

Based on William Goldman’s 1973 novel, The Princess Bride remains a beloved classic, famous for its star-studded ensemble cast including Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, and André the Giant.
