A dog groomer in Tenerife was illegally performing dental procedures on animals.
On Tenerife, the owner of a dog grooming salon is suspected of illegally treating animals' teeth, including cleaning without anesthesia and using prohibited medications.
A strange case is being investigated in Granadilla, Tenerife. A local dog grooming salon appears to have been illegally performing dental procedures on animals, according to the Civil Guard.
During the inspection, a lot was found: surgical instruments, bandages, medications (even those for humans!), and gas. It turned out that the dogs' teeth were being cleaned without anesthesia, which is completely unacceptable.
The police sent the found drugs for examination, and it turned out that they cannot be used for animals at all. Veterinarians confirmed that only a doctor has the right to carry out such procedures and only under anesthesia.
The owner of the salon is now suspected of fraud because she was engaged in veterinary practice without a license. She was also issued several fines for violating animal welfare rules, using medications, and conducting activities without permission.
The investigation is still ongoing, and all documents are being checked.
