The International Clownbaret Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with an extensive program of 74 performances across 12 Canary Island municipalities from September 30 to October 25, 2026.

The International Clownbaret Festival (FIC) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, cementing its place as a cornerstone of the performing arts in the Canary Islands. Organizers have announced an extensive program running from September 30 to October 25, 2026, featuring 74 performances across 12 municipalities.

This milestone highlights the strength of the circus and clowning sector in Spain. Directed by Brian Rodríguez and produced by Lasal Producciones and Clownbaret, the festival remains a vital hub for both professionals and the public by constantly evolving its artistic style. This year, the festival’s visual identity was created by artist María Pulido, known for her work on the 2025 Goya-winning animated feature film.

The lineup features 17 diverse companies and artists, including Peter Shub, Compagnie La Liberté, Paul Morocco, Peter Ercolano, Spanish Circus, La Buffa, and Wilbur. The highlight of the festival, the "FIC-XX Years Cabaret," will take place on October 3 at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna, featuring performances by Shub, Ercolano, Wilbur, José Luis Redondo, and La Churry. Tickets are currently available on Tickety.es.

The festival also emphasizes professional development. From October 6 to 8, Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host an intensive 12-hour workshop titled "Make Them Laugh." Led by Peter Shub, the course focuses on physical comedy, improvisation, and gag construction. It is open to anyone over 18, with registration available through the festival’s official website.

The festival is made possible through a wide network of institutional support, including the Government of the Canary Islands, the Canary Institute of Cultural Development, the Ministry of Culture, the Cabildo of Tenerife, and the Autonomous Organization of Culture of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Additional support from the municipalities of Adeje, La Laguna, Guía de Isora, Santiago del Teide, Los Realejos, Tacoronte, Icod de los Vinos, Tegueste, and Agüimes, alongside Cajasiete, ensures the event reaches audiences across the islands.
