Idaira del Castillo Debuts Introspective Solo Exhibition 'Rita' at Galería Artizar

The Canary Islands art scene is welcoming a new exhibition by Tenerife-born artist Idaira del Castillo. Her latest solo show, Rita, opens this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Galería Artizar, located at 63 San Agustín Street, and will run until May 30th.

This exhibition marks a significant shift in the 1985-born artist’s career. While Del Castillo is well-known for the intense, saturated colors that defined her previous work—such as her notable show at the Círculo de Bellas Artes—this new series moves toward a more restrained approach. As noted by writer Verónica Farizo, the artist has moved away from her usual visual exuberance, favoring introspection, delicate compositions, and a focus on empty space set against light-toned backgrounds.
