Icod de los Vinos has been named "The Village of the Summer" for 2026 following a public voting campaign hosted by Compañía Cervecera de Canarias.

Icod de los Vinos has been crowned "The Village of the Summer" for 2026, as announced by Compañía Cervecera de Canarias (CCC). This is the second year the title has been awarded, following Garachico’s win last year. The winner was chosen through an online vote that saw thousands of residents celebrate the heritage and identity of their local towns.

The competition, hosted on the Dorada brand’s social media channels, saw 12,981 votes cast during the first phase. Sixteen municipalities from Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro competed in a knockout-style tournament. Icod de los Vinos reached the final and secured the win with 37% of the vote, beating out finalists La Orotava, Frontera, and Puerto de la Cruz.

Beyond the contest, the initiative reflects the brewery's commitment to the islands, where it supports roughly 14,000 jobs. CEO Roberto Martínez explained that the project aims to celebrate towns as the heart of community life and shared history. The selection also supports the company’s broader mission to promote local production and consumption.

To celebrate the win, the Icod town council and the organizers will host a public event on September 12. The celebration will feature live music and cultural activities, highlighting the partnership between local businesses and the community.
