The "Tales under the Dragon Tree" event in Icod de los Vinos attracted 1,000 visitors, successfully blending literature, performing arts, and local heritage to boost the town's cultural profile in northern Tenerife.

The latest "Tales under the Dragon Tree" event has cemented Icod de los Vinos’ reputation as a cultural hotspot in northern Tenerife, drawing 1,000 visitors last weekend. Organizers say the initiative successfully blended local tourism with literature and the celebration of the area’s natural heritage.

Coordinated by the Department of Tourism and the municipal company Icodtesa, led by Gerardo Rizo, the event was held in partnership with the Cultural Association for the Development and Promotion of Reading and Storytelling, headed by Ernesto Rodríguez Abad. The program featured a diverse mix of storytelling, performing arts, workshops, and guided tours.

Beyond simple entertainment, the event used the three-hectare Drago Park as its centerpiece to highlight the site's botanical and symbolic importance. By hosting activities in the historic center and the Casa de Lorenzo Cáceres, the organizers aimed to showcase the town as a destination where nature, history, and art meet. The strong turnout—which included both local residents and international visitors—demonstrates the success of this approach in revitalizing public spaces while promoting sustainability and a love for reading.
