
HUB INTECH Tenerife Reinforces Island's Tech Leadership
The Tenerife Island Council's HUB INTECH Tenerife, held November 21-22, gathered 36 global tech manufacturers and nearly 300 Canary Islands companies to advance innovation, AI, investment, and immersive technologies, solidifying Tenerife's role as a digital transformation hub.
The Tenerife Island Council, through its Science and Technology Park, successfully held one of its most important tech events, HUB INTECH Tenerife, on November 21 and 22. The Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel became a central point for innovation, artificial intelligence, investment, and immersive technologies.
The event began with a presentation by Raúl Ordóñez, an expert in digital transformation and AI. His talk, "The Invisible Revolution: How Artificial Intelligence Opens New Opportunities," offered a strategic look at how AI impacts productivity, business models, and decision-making.
Next, the HUB INTECH Tenerife Premium Forum – Fundación Diario de Avisos featured two panel discussions. The first, "Is the Future of Tourism Technological?", included Victoria López (President of Grupo Fedola), Isidro Fernández (CEO of Bumerania), Orlando Santana (CEO of Coco Solutions), and Olga Martín Pascual (Managing Director of the Tenerife Science and Technology Park). The second panel, "Is Innovation the Tool with Which We Build What's to Come?", brought together Iván Ballesteros (founder of iB Putter Sweet Spot), Svetlana Velikanova (CEO of Harbour Space), and Juan José Martínez Díaz (Councillor for Innovation, Research, and Development of the Tenerife Island Council).
The Tenerife INvierte Forum once again served as a key meeting place for entrepreneurs and investors. This year, 12 innovative ideas were presented, showcasing the strong tech startup scene in the Canary Islands. After the jury's decision, Cortical Robotics won third prize, Mentoor took second, and Catalyst Tools secured first place. The forum also featured Ferrán Martínez, a former professional basketball player and well-known investor, who spoke about "Trends in Investment."
In parallel, Descubre XR, Spain's largest event for immersive technologies, held its 8th edition in Tenerife. Leading experts like Laura Morales, Laura Raya, Celia Jiménez, Verónica Rodríguez, and Cynthia Gálvez López participated. This edition included presentations, hardware demonstrations, round tables, and a live connection with VR Day Valencia.
The HUB also featured the Binary System Showroom, where major international manufacturers displayed their latest innovations in hardware, electronics, and home automation. Additionally, the PCTT Point was set up to help companies, startups, and investors make important connections.
The program was completed with training workshops led by specialists. Lolo Morales focused on digital positioning. José María Prieto (Tutellus), Cristina Romero, and Javier Gispert (Reental) dedicated their session to real estate tokenization. Eric Sánchez, CEO of Reental, addressed digital real estate investment and asset tokenization.
HUB INTECH Tenerife concluded with 36 world-leading technology manufacturers and nearly 300 Canary Islands companies taking part.
