Hotel Taburiente Partners with Cabildo de Tenerife to Transform Guest Rooms into Art Galleries
Hotel Taburiente and the Cabildo de Tenerife have partnered to transform 70 guest rooms into galleries showcasing the work of emerging local artists inspired by García Sanabria Park.
Hotel Taburiente and the Cabildo de Tenerife have launched a new partnership to turn 70 of the hotel’s guest rooms into living art galleries. This initiative, part of the Merkarte 2025 program, aims to showcase the work of emerging local artists.
The project focuses on the nearby García Sanabria Park. Artists aged 18 to 35 living on the island are invited to submit work that offers a contemporary take on the park’s botany and colors.
The hotel is funding the production and purchase of the artwork, while also providing a platform for artists to sell their pieces. Guests will be able to learn more about the art and the artists through QR codes in the rooms, making it easier for them to purchase local work during their stay.
A committee of hotel representatives and cultural experts will select the winning entries over the next month. Interested artists should submit a portfolio of at least 20 pieces, along with their background and a statement of purpose, to proyectomerkarte@hoteltaburiente.com.
This collaboration highlights a growing trend of luxury hotels using local art to create a unique guest experience. By turning its rooms into a showcase for young talent, Hotel Taburiente is helping to support the local creative economy while connecting visitors with the natural and cultural heritage of Tenerife.
