In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a large branch fell in the Plaza del Príncipe, damaging cars and a fence, which led to the temporary closure of the square to pedestrians and an ongoing investigation.

This afternoon in the center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a large branch fell in the Plaza del Príncipe. It damaged a parked car and part of the fence.

The city authorities responded immediately. Utility workers quickly removed the branch and cordoned off the area to prevent injuries.

The square is currently closed to pedestrians. An expert examination has been ordered to determine why the branch fell and how much damage it caused.

The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, said that everything was quickly secured and they are awaiting the experts' conclusions.

Carlos Tarife, who is responsible for public services, added that in addition to cleaning up, they are assessing the damage to understand what needs to be repaired.

The city hall assured that they will continue to monitor the condition of the trees in the Plaza del Príncipe and throughout the city.
