A 31-year-old man was rescued by helicopter from the Montaña Blanca trail in Teide National Park, Tenerife, after a fall left him with a moderate arm injury.

A 31-year-old man was rescued by helicopter this Saturday after falling on the Montaña Blanca trail in Teide National Park, Tenerife. The rescue was carried out by the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES), according to the 1-1-2 emergency services.

The incident happened around 12:33 PM. Emergency services (1-1-2) received a call reporting that someone needed medical help after a fall, prompting them to immediately dispatch rescue teams to the area.

Once the helicopter arrived, GES rescuers rappelled down to the injured man. After giving him initial medical attention, they hoisted him into the helicopter and flew him to the La Guancha helipad.

On the ground, Canarian Emergency Service staff took over, assisting the hiker who had a moderate injury to his arm. He was then taken by ambulance to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital.

Firefighters, members of the Spanish Red Cross emergency response team, the Civil Guard, environmental staff, and Teide National Park personnel also assisted in the rescue operation.
