Hiker Airlifted After Fall in Tenerife

A hiker was rescued by helicopter in Roque Bermejo, Tenerife, after a fall, sustaining a moderate lower leg injury and being transported to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.

Emergency services (Cecoes 1-1-2) reported that a hiker was rescued by helicopter on Thursday after falling in Roque Bermejo, an area in Punta de Anaga, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The incident occurred around 12:29 PM when the 1-1-2 operations room received a call about a hiker who had fallen and needed medical attention. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the area.

A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) quickly reached the location and rescued the hiker. She was then flown to Tenerife North Airport. Upon landing, medical staff from the Canarian Emergency Service were waiting. They treated the hiker for a moderate lower leg injury before she was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands.

The Tenerife Fire Department and Civil Protection also assisted in the emergency.
