Hiker, 56, Rescued by Helicopter After Arico Fall
A 56-year-old woman was rescued by a GES helicopter after falling on a hiking trail in Arico's Las Majadas area and was subsequently hospitalized.
A 56-year-old woman was rescued by a GES helicopter this Sunday after falling while hiking a trail in the Las Majadas area of Arico.
The Canary Islands' 112 emergency service received the alert at 2:11 PM. The report stated that a hiker had suffered an accidental fall and needed medical assistance.
Tenerife Firefighters reached the woman's location and worked with GES rescuers to prepare her for the aerial evacuation. The helicopter then transported her to Tenerife North Airport. There, an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting to take over her care and transfer her to the hospital.
Meanwhile, police officers also assisted the emergency services.
