High Waves Close Garachico Coastal Roads
Strong waves have forced the closure of Garachico's Maritime Avenue and the coastal road to Los Silos, with authorities urging caution and implementing alternative routes.
Garachico's Maritime Avenue has been closed since this morning because strong waves flooded the road. The local council and police announced this on social media.
Police said the high waves make the road unsafe for both drivers and pedestrians, leading to its closure earlier than planned.
Also, the coastal road to Los Silos will be closed.
Garachico Town Council is asking everyone to cooperate to stay safe. They are urging tourists and residents to stay away from the area, follow signs, respect safety barriers, and listen to authorities.
Because of the closure, two temporary alternative routes have been put in place: one for traffic heading towards Icod de los Vinos-Buenavista and another for traffic going the other way.
