Her Festival 2025 kicked off its program of workshops, talks, residencies, and training activities this Tuesday. These events will run until Saturday in Tenerife's capital, held at TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Phenomenal Estudio, and Espacio Cultural El Tanque. Under the theme "From the Canary Islands to the world, resistance sounds collectively," the festival aims to be a hub for learning, community engagement, and artistic discovery. It's a place for creators, researchers, and various audiences to connect. You can find tickets and register on the festival's website: herfeministfestival.com.
Tomorrow, Thursday, at 5:30 PM, TEA will present "Women in Music," featuring Aïda Camprubí, Leonora Casacu, Kinewa, and Alejandra Galo. Afterwards, journalist and comedian Nerea Pérez de las Heras will lead a discussion on humor as a tool for politics and shared reflection. Espacio El Tanque is hosting a residency with Mireia Tramunt and Guanila until Friday. It will conclude that evening at 8:30 PM with "Pulso," a unique painting and sound performance created for the space.
The festival's workshops, which started yesterday, will also run until Friday. Highlights include "Insularismos Conventuales" by Las Hijas de Felipe (today, Wednesday, at TEA); "El ciempiés textil" by Labory (running from yesterday until tomorrow, Thursday, at Espacio El Tanque); "Mujeres Vinileras" by Pimientas Selectoras (on Friday at Phenomenal Estudio); and "Todo un hombre" by Paloma Calle (running from yesterday until tomorrow at Phenomenal Estudio). Paloma Calle's workshop is complemented by her monologue, "Paloma calle que se calle," on Friday at Espacio Cultural El Tanque.
On Saturday, Her 2025 will host an event lasting over eight hours, starting at 4:00 PM. V.A.N.H., known for vector synthesis, generative art, and 2D/3D animation, will set the visual tone for the festival. The lineup includes Sherelle, blending footwork, jungle, and drum'n'bass. Introspekt will offer a sensual and experimental take on dubstep and garage. Ayy Den follows with a mix of dancehall, reggae, funky, and garage.
Also on Saturday, Irtap will present their blend of bass, amapiano, dancehall, and grime. Bliss will deliver groove and footwork with urban rhythms, while Vándala promises a tribal and hypnotic journey. Tenerife duo Dyatlov, made up of Déborah Palenzuela and Carlos Pérez, will fuse electropunk, industrial, and ambient sounds. The festival will close with Natura Aeterna, a project by T Modet and Carlotto Rose.
