Habemus Teatro will premiere its most ambitious production to date, an original musical adaptation of Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper," featuring new music, choreography, and staging at Teatro Leal in La Laguna from December 12th to 14th.

Habemus Teatro has announced its latest stage production: "The Prince and the Pauper." This new show, based on Mark Twain's famous novel, will be performed at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna on December 12th, 13th, and 14th. The company, which is based in Tenerife, says this is their most ambitious production in their 17-year history.

Adrián del Castillo, the Culture Councilor for the La Laguna City Council, commended Habemus Teatro for their ongoing efforts to offer a wide variety of shows for everyone. He also mentioned that this musical version of the story will encourage audiences to "think about and enjoy a universal tale told with feeling, humor, and great artistic skill."

The show's director, Ariel Hernández, described this adaptation of "The Prince and the Pauper" as his most ambitious project and his first original musical. Hernández explained that they have created their own version of the well-known novel from the ground up, with careful attention to detail. Javier Jonás Díaz, the choral director, added that the singing is filled with "a lot of love and effort, because the occasion calls for it."

Featuring original staging, choreography, and music, the musical explores themes of equality, empathy, and hope. It tells the story of Prince Edward and the poor boy Tom Canty, set in 16th-century England.

This production marks the first time the company has created a completely original musical, from the music and script to the staging. Ariel Hernández is the creative force behind the concept and direction, bringing a fresh, modern perspective to a classic story.

The music was composed by Alberto de la Rosa, with lyrics by Eduardo Rodríguez, creating a contemporary soundtrack for the timeless tale. Emilio Ramos's choreography adds energy and visual expression, complementing the performances of the 16 actors and actresses.

Habemus Teatro, founded in 2008, has consistently produced shows for all ages and has focused on musical theater, a genre that combines various art forms and showcases the diverse talents of its members.
