Guía de Isora’s "Pascua Florida" concluded its 2026 edition, cementing the event's status as a national benchmark for contemporary floral art by transforming the town's historic center into an open-air museum.

The 2026 edition of Guía de Isora’s "Pascua Florida" concluded this Easter Sunday, cementing its reputation as a standout event in the Canary Islands' cultural calendar. This year, the project expanded its reach by integrating 24 artistic installations throughout the town’s historic center, setting it apart from traditional Holy Week celebrations.

The event’s success lies in its unique blend of religious tradition and modern art. Under the direction of Carlos Curbelo, the town served as a creative laboratory where flowers were used to explore minimalist, baroque, and conceptual styles. This year’s edition drew significant talent, including Canary Islands Fine Arts Prize winner Fernando Álamo and renowned floral designer Alex Segura from Barcelona, who praised the event as a one-of-a-kind experience in Spain.

Mayor Ana Dorta and First Deputy Mayor Carlos Álvarez highlighted the event as both a creative achievement and a vital way to promote the municipality. They credited the dedication of local groups, parishes, and municipal staff as the driving force behind the complex public installations.

By moving beyond conventional processions and transforming the historic center into an open-air museum, Guía de Isora has successfully reinterpreted its heritage. The Pascua Florida has evolved into a national benchmark for contemporary floral art, showcasing how local traditions can be reimagined for a modern audience.
