Independent councilwoman Acerina González Prieto, formerly Guía de Isora's Social Services head, has officially complained to the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate regarding alleged continuous workplace harassment and professional isolation that forced her to take medical leave.

Seven months after first speaking out about alleged workplace harassment, former Social Services head, Acerina González Prieto, who is now an independent councilwoman for Guía de Isora, has officially complained to the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate.

In a public statement, González described a situation of "continuous harassment," "professional isolation," and an "unbearable work environment." This led her to take medical leave in February 2025, which she is still on.

González, who left the Popular Party with someone close to councilman Ayoze Medina, had previously revealed these issues after leaving the conservative party. At that time, a municipal worker also came forward internally, reportedly highlighting similar problems like harassment and too much work.

González stated that she tried to resolve the situation internally without success. She "requested meetings, made calls, and sought institutional protection," but "that protection never came."

She claims the harassment was constant, involving "repeated put-downs, systematic discrediting, intentionally taking away her duties, professional isolation, and personal discredit." This, she says, caused extreme emotional exhaustion, forcing her to take medical leave and start psychiatric and psychological treatment. Medical reports confirm these issues "persist to this day."

While her statement doesn't name those responsible for the alleged harassment, in a press conference last July, where she first went public, she identified Carlos Álvarez, the current spokesperson for the PP in the municipality, as a key figure in the conflict. She also criticized her party's leaders, including Emilio Navarro, Manuel Domínguez, and Lope Afonso, for their failed attempts at mediation. She accused them of closing the case by demanding she give up her councilor's certificate and calling her a "defector."
