The Guía de Isora City Council has confirmed it holds no evidence to support workplace mistreatment claims made by non-attached councilor Acerina González Prieto following her departure from the Partido Popular.

The political landscape in Guía de Isora has shifted following a formal request for clarification by the local Partido Popular. As reported by Diario de Avisos, the City Council currently holds no evidence, judicial rulings, or administrative files to support the claims of workplace mistreatment previously made by councilwoman Acerina González Prieto.

This situation follows a period of institutional tension that began in February 2025, when the councilwoman went on medical leave. In July, she officially left the Partido Popular to become a non-attached councilor—a move that, under Spanish law, can change the balance of power within local government commissions. Although she held a press conference last summer to allege harassment, she has not provided any evidence to the authorities to back up these claims.

The conflict reached a turning point on July 31, when the Mayor’s Office issued an order—published in the Official Gazette of the Province on August 14—to strip the councilwoman of her responsibilities in Historical Heritage and Training. According to official documents, this decision was made at the councilwoman's own request.

This case highlights the difficulties of managing human resources in local government when trust between political groups breaks down. The lack of evidence for the harassment allegations, combined with the councilwoman’s change in political status, emphasizes the importance of following proper legal channels. Doing so is essential to ensure transparency and protect all parties involved in the management of public office.
