The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has awarded Granocielo S.L. a ten-year, non-renewable contract to operate the iconic kiosk-bar at Weyler Square for an annual fee of 54,024 euros.

Weyler Square, one of Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s most important heritage sites, will soon have a new operator for its iconic kiosk-bar. The city council has awarded the management of the property to Granocielo S.L. following a competitive public bidding process.

The agreement grants the company the right to operate the space for a fixed term of ten years. Unlike many other municipal contracts, this agreement cannot be renewed, meaning the contract will expire strictly at the end of the decade. As part of the deal, the company will pay an annual fee of 54,024 euros to the city, reflecting the site's prime location and value.

The selection process followed standard public tender requirements to ensure fairness. After reviewing all submissions, the Permanent Contracting Board confirmed that Granocielo S.L. met all necessary financial and technical standards.

This move marks the return of hospitality services to a key spot in the city’s historic center and highlights the council's commitment to managing public assets through transparent processes. The city will now formally notify all bidders and publish the contract details on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, in line with official regulations.
