In October 2025, the Virgin of Candelaria will visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where religious and cultural events will take place, including conferences, concerts, exhibitions, and pilgrimages.

In October 2025, from the 11th to the 25th, the Virgin of Candelaria will visit Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This will be not just a religious event, but a true celebration of the island's culture, history, and life.

This will be the sixth visit of La Patrona to the capital. The Bishopric of Tenerife, together with the Santa Cruz City Council, is preparing a large program. Conferences, concerts, and exhibitions will begin a few weeks before the visit. And it will all end with a large pilgrimage from the Basilica to the center of Santa Cruz and back to Villa Mariana. This celebration will unite believers, various organizations, and simply concerned people from all over the island.

The Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, says that the visit of the Virgin of Candelaria is a very important event for the city and for all Christians. He emphasized that the city authorities have been cooperating with various organizations and the bishopric for several months to ensure that everything goes well and safely. They want this celebration, which will bring together thousands of people, to be a real success.

Juan Manuel Yanes, who is responsible for organizing the visit, says that with each week, people are looking forward to this event more and more. The organizers are joining forces with various institutions, companies, and simply concerned people. Many are helping financially, because such a large event requires considerable expenses.

Starting next week, souvenirs will be available for purchase at the La Concepción parish: caps, T-shirts, rosaries, fans, etc.

Lectures, concerts, and excursions will begin in the city from mid-September. For example, on September 24 at 8:00 p.m., a conference on the history of the cult of the Virgin of Candelaria will be held at the Chamber of Commerce.

On September 25 at 8:30 p.m., the Santa Cruz Municipal Music Band will give a concert "Maria, the Music of God" in the parish of Our Lady of Pilar. And on September 26 at 8:00 p.m., historian Octavio Rodríguez Delgado will give a lecture on the flood of 1826 in Tenerife.

The September program will end on September 28 at 8:00 p.m. with the concert "Maria in Music and Poetry".

There will also be many interesting events in October. For example, on October 1 at 8:00 p.m., the Chamber of Commerce will talk about the historical routes associated with the Virgin of Candelaria. On October 18, young people will gather for the Diocesan Youth Meeting and the Hakuna Group Music celebration at 9:00 p.m. On October 19, there will be a sea mass, as well as folklore performances and other events.

On October 24, after the evening mass, the Virgin will go in procession to the Plaza de España at 7:00 p.m. There, at 8:00 p.m., a solemn service will be held. The farewell to Santa Cruz will end with a torchlight procession at 10:00 p.m.

On October 25 at 00:45, the return journey will begin. The Virgin will stop in various places, including the Monastery of the Dominican Mothers at 01:30.

On October 26, the Virgin will make her final stops in various settlements. From there, she will head to the Basilica in Candelaria, where this historic event will end.

During the Virgin's stay in Santa Cruz, the Church of Our Lady of the Conception will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. There, it will be possible to confess and pray.
