Alba Edmonds was crowned the winner of the 14th annual Miss Sur pageant, which drew over 3,000 spectators to Granadilla de Abona to celebrate regional heritage and boost local tourism.

Granadilla de Abona has cemented its status as a hub for regional tourism after successfully hosting the 14th annual Miss Sur pageant. The event, held in El Médano’s central square, drew a crowd of over 3,000 people to see Alba Edmonds—a Social Sciences student and aspiring early childhood educator representing San Miguel de Abona—crowned the winner.

More than just a beauty pageant, the event served as a boost for the local economy and a showcase for regional heritage. Directed by Sandro Pérgola as part of the Sansofé festival, the gala featured videos highlighting the diverse communities of southern Tenerife. Following this year’s success, the Granadilla town council and the event organizers have already agreed to host the pageant again in 2027. The initiative continues to enjoy strong backing from eight local municipal councils and the private sector.

Joining Edmonds in the court of honor were runners-up Enoah Dávila, representing Adeje, and Karla Balbes, representing Spawellplus. The evening also featured musical performances by Robin, Yuri V, and the group MalditoNombre. Since its launch in 2012, Miss Sur has traveled across the island to promote the region’s unique landscapes and history. Organizers also confirmed that the northern counterpart to the pageant will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Los Realejos, continuing their commitment to hosting events across different parts of the island.
