The Granadilla de Abona City Council has commissioned the design for a €13 million urbanization project in San Isidro's northwest sector, set to create 874 new homes, extensive public spaces, and amenities over 127,410 square meters.

The Granadilla de Abona City Council has taken a major step towards transforming a key area in San Isidro, the municipality's most populated town. They've hired a company to design the urbanization project for the northwest sector and to carry out an environmental impact study.

This development site, located near the La Palmera football field, covers an area of 127,410.30 square meters. The project will outline all the necessary infrastructure, facilities, and public spaces for this new sector. Plans include a sports complex and other public amenities spanning almost 20,000 square meters, along with a large urban park, gardens, and a town square, which together will provide 18,900 square meters of open space. There will also be a residential area with an estimated 874 new homes, 40% of which are planned as affordable rental housing.

This comprehensive plan aims to create balanced growth in the town center, offering new services and addressing the increasing demand for housing. The total investment for this project is expected to be over 13 million euros. With the contract now official, the City Council can move forward with the technical planning needed to organize this vital area for San Isidro's future. This development will provide new facilities, homes, and public spaces, strengthening San Isidro's role as the municipality's main population and economic hub.

Mayor José Domingo Regalado highlighted that "awarding the project's design is a firm step towards creating a more modern, accessible San Isidro equipped with high-quality public services."
