Starting June 18th, the Gran Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz is expanding its OKA restaurant’s operations to include weekend lunch service, allowing guests to enjoy its fusion cuisine alongside panoramic views of the La Orotava Valley and Mount Teide.

Starting June 18th, the Gran Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz is expanding its dining options. The hotel’s OKA restaurant, led by chefs Ricardo Sanz and Emiliano Liska, will now be open for lunch on weekends. This change aims to make the most of the hotel’s historic location, which has become a key part of the property's recent revival.

OKA is known for its unique blend of traditional Japanese techniques, Mediterranean influences, and local ingredients. Chefs Sanz and Liska focus on a dynamic menu that changes based on the daily catch and seasonal market availability. By opening during the day, the restaurant allows guests to enjoy their meal while taking in views of the La Orotava Valley and Mount Teide from the panoramic terrace.

This expansion is part of the Gran Hotel Taoro’s broader goal to become a top culinary destination in the Canary Islands. OKA joins other notable dining spots at the hotel, including LAVA and Amalur, both led by chef Erlantz Gorostiza. Guests can also continue their experience at the Tagoror Lobby Bar & Lounge, which offers a selection of cocktails and coffee.

By offering weekend lunches, the hotel is tapping into a growing trend in luxury travel: highlighting natural light and stunning surroundings as essential parts of the dining experience. This move helps the hotel stand out by combining modern culinary techniques with the island's natural beauty.
