The third annual Golf & Fun Tenerife tournament successfully combined competitive golf with cultural immersion, raising 5,300 euros for breast cancer research while strengthening the island's appeal as a premier sports tourism destination.

The third annual Golf & Fun Tenerife tournament has once again proven that sports tourism is a powerful way to build long-term loyalty with European visitors. The event goes beyond simple competition, offering participants a chance to truly experience the local culture. This year, 100 international players spent four days enjoying not just the island’s golf courses, but also its food, folklore, and traditions.

The tournament took place across four courses—Golf Los Palos, Abama Golf, Golf del Sur, and Costa Adeje—using various formats like Texas Scramble and Stableford. Gaëtan and Patsy Van Baarle took home the top prize in the Scratch category. In the first category, Juan Hernández Mosquera and David Weytjens claimed victory, while Stephane Llopis and Anastasia Shevchenko successfully defended their title in the second category.

The event’s social program was a major highlight, helping to boost the local economy. Participants enjoyed a cultural day at La Calabacera Organic Farm, featuring a performance by the Los Majuelos folk group, and a Carnival-themed closing party at Bahía Beach. The Venture Hospitality Group helped coordinate the event’s dining experiences, showcasing the best of local cuisine.

The tournament also had a charitable focus, with a portion of registration fees donated to the Carrera por la Vida association to support the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to the players' contributions, matched by the Menceyes Group and an additional donation from Adidas, the event raised 5,300 euros.

Supported by public and private sponsors, including Turismo de Tenerife, the tournament serves as a successful model for promoting the island. By combining Tenerife’s ideal climate and sports facilities with unique cultural experiences, the event helps attract visitors year-round and strengthens the island's connection with the European market.
