García Sanabria Gallery Hosts Exhibition on Human Impact and Climate Change
The García Sanabria Art Gallery is hosting Anthropocene. Climate Change, an exhibition featuring Fernando Moleres’ photography that explores human impact on the environment and promotes ecological awareness in Santa Cruz de Tenerife through April 18.
Starting this Monday, the García Sanabria Art Gallery will host an exhibition exploring how human activity is reshaping our planet’s geology and environment. Titled Anthropocene. Climate Change, the exhibition is organized by the Santa Cruz Sostenible Foundation to encourage ecological awareness across Tenerife’s capital.
The collection features over thirty photographs by Fernando Moleres. His work challenges our current approach to development and highlights its direct impact on global ecosystems. This project, which runs until April 18, continues the foundation’s environmental outreach efforts, following last year’s retrospective on the natural landscape of Anaga.
Beyond its visual appeal, the exhibition aims to engage the public in the scientific debate surrounding the "Anthropocene"—the current geological era defined by human dominance over the Earth. By including this project in its cultural calendar, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council hopes to highlight environmental decline while encouraging residents to seek local solutions to the climate crisis.
