Galería Bibli to Host 'Casi alguien' Exhibition Exploring Fluid Identity
Galería Bibli in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the opening of Casi alguien this Friday, an exhibition featuring five artists who explore the fluid and evolving nature of human identity.
A new exhibition exploring how we define identity through art is coming to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Galería Bibli, located at 15 San Francisco Javier Street, will host the opening of Casi alguien (Almost Someone) this Friday at 7:00 p.m. The show invites visitors to rethink traditional ideas of how humans are represented in art.
Running until July 31, the exhibition features works by Teresa Correa, Pedro González, Moneiba Lemes, Fernando Martín Godoy, and Cristina Temes. Together, these artists challenge the idea that a person’s identity is fixed. Rather than creating realistic portraits, they use techniques like alteration and incompleteness to show that the individual is always changing.
The exhibition moves away from the traditional view of a portrait as a permanent record. Instead, it presents the human figure as a complex space where personal history and environment collide. By moving away from the idea of the face as an unchanging icon, the gallery highlights how fragile identity really is—viewing it not as a final product, but as an ongoing process. Through this collection, the gallery offers a space to reflect on how time and experience shape how we see ourselves and how others see us.
