Santa Cruz is on fire: Plenilunio festival gathered thousands of guests and supported local business
The Plenilunio festival, dedicated to "Mysteries of the Universe," took place in Santa Cruz over three days, combining music, sports, art, and entertainment for all ages, attracting thousands of visitors and supporting local businesses.
From October 3rd to 5th, Santa Cruz was a real celebration – the Plenilunio festival! This year, for the seventeenth time, it was held under the motto "Secrets of the Universe". Imagine: for three days the city turned into a huge stage, where there was everything – music, sports, art, delicious food and entertainment for everyone, from toddlers to adults.
People really liked it! They say that as many as 84% of visitors rated the festival as "good" or "very good". This shows that Plenilunio is one of the coolest events in the city that brings people together. Thousands of residents and guests walked the streets, participated in various events – there were more than a hundred of them! The atmosphere was festive and very diverse.
The museums were also crowded. For example, the Almeida Military History Museum was visited by more than 2,100 people, and the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes – by about 2,000. The Palace of the General Captaincy was also popular – it was visited by more than 1,600 visitors. And in the Plaza del Príncipe, children had fun in the play area – there were more than a thousand kids! Even the House of Carnival was visited by about 200 people.
Music is always cool! Famous artists such as Pedro Capó and Ptazeta performed at the festival. They lit up the Plaza de España and the Avenida Marítima. But people liked not only that. Many came for the atmosphere and children's entertainment (20.9%), live music (12.6%), delicious food (11.1%), fairs and shops (9.8% and 4.1%), as well as master classes (7.7%).
And at night there was something special – the Loco Bongo show! It's a kind of reworked bingo game that has turned into a real party. Music, light, jokes and fun games – all this made the evening unforgettable. People didn't just watch, they participated in the show. Yurena's performance, special effects and animation from Xenon Spain made about 2,000 people dance. And it was all safe, fun and for everyone!
The festival also helped local businesses. There was an initiative called "Bonos Consumo Domingo". 2,000 coupons were put up for sale, and people bought 1,755 of them for a total of €43,875. This shows that Plenilunio not only gives a good mood and entertainment, but also supports local shops and restaurants.
There was also something to do for sports fans. Chicharock took place on Avenida Marítima, where young people and families learned surfskating, played street basketball, practiced parkour, roller dancing and street dancing.
In addition to concerts and museums, there were many interesting outdoor events in the city. For example, the "From Space" parade passed through the central streets. It seemed to bring the theme of "Secrets of the Universe" to life. Art, music and movement were everywhere, and everyone could find something interesting for themselves.
Overall, Plenilunio is not just weekend entertainment. It is an indicator of how interesting and cultural Santa Cruz can be. It is a place where people meet, where diversity is celebrated, and where it gets better and better every year. So we are waiting for the next festival! Plenilunio shows that secrets, creativity and a friendly atmosphere are the best calling card of the city.
