Police in Guía de Isora have arrested a man who evaded capture for over three years after a 2022 home burglary warrant, now sending him to prison.

Police in Guía de Isora have arrested a man who had been on the run since April 2022. A warrant for his arrest was issued back then for a serious home burglary in Chirche. He had managed to avoid police for more than three years, hiding in various parts of the municipality to avoid serving his sentence.

According to the Civil Guard, the arrested man also had a history of multiple property crimes, traffic offenses, domestic violence, and family abuse. His case was flagged in a system for monitoring domestic violence victims.

After an investigation spanning several months, officers pinpointed the address where the man was hiding. The home, in the Chío area of Guía de Isora, was his hideout, allowing him to avoid police and his prison sentence.

Once the location was confirmed, officers obtained a judicial warrant to enter and search the property. This legal step ensures proper oversight by the Spanish justice system.

Officers from the Guía de Isora Civil Guard were joined by members of the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC) for the operation. After entering the home, they found the fugitive and arrested him without any problems.

The Civil Guard confirmed that the arrested man has been taken to prison to begin serving his sentence for the crimes he committed. This arrest highlights the importance of ongoing, coordinated efforts to find those who try to escape justice.
