"Fractus" Performance at El Sauzal Theater Tonight
Bulgarian choreographer Jivko Jeliazkov's award-winning "Fractus," a fractal-inspired contemporary dance performance, will be presented tonight at the El Sauzal Theater in Tenerife as part of the Masdanza festival.
Tonight, Sunday at 7:00 p.m., the El Sauzal Theater in Tenerife is hosting a special performance as part of the Gran Canaria's Masdanza festival.
Don't miss "Fractus," a show by Jivko Jeliazkov, a top choreographer from Bulgaria. He's considered one of the best in Europe by Aerowaves-Dance Across Europe.
"Fractus" features music by Ivan Shopov and takes you into a world inspired by fractals – geometric shapes that mix order and chaos in a beautiful way. Four dancers, Ivona Mashova, Simona Todorova, Vyara Bolgradova, and Philip Milanov, will create a space where movement grows and changes before your eyes.
This award-winning performance (it won the IKAR 2017 Prize for best contemporary dance) is an immersive experience with precise movements, flexible bodies, and captivating music.
Jeliazkov is not only a choreographer but also co-founder of the Derida Dance Center in Bulgaria, the first of its kind in the country. He's also the artistic director of Derida Stage and Derida Company. His dance style is very physical, turning inner feelings into outward expression. He's also worked with Masdanza, leading workshops for professional dancers.
The Masdanza festival is run by Natalia Medina Santana from Qué Tal Estás, and it's supported by various organizations, including INAEM, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Tourism of Gran Canaria, Red A Cielo Abierto, and Acción Cultural Española.
