FPSO Petrojarl 1 Departs Las Palmas After Year, Moves to Tenerife
The FPSO Petrojarl 1 has departed the Port of Las Palmas after nearly a year, relocating to waters off southern Tenerife near Granadilla and freeing up space in the busy port.
The FPSO Petrojarl 1 has left the Port of Las Palmas after nearly a year docked there. It has been moved to the waters off southern Tenerife, near the port of Granadilla.
The Norwegian tugboat Skandi Minder towed the vessel to waters near the Port of Granadilla, where it is expected to stay for some time.
According to maritime news source Puente de Mando, the FPSO arrived in Las Palmas in February 2025. It was initially expected to stay for six months for repairs by Repnaval Zamakona, but it ended up staying much longer than planned.
Moving the vessel to Tenerife frees up space in the busy Port of Las Palmas, which is a very active port for shipping and logistics.
The maritime publication also noted that the Petrojarl 1 looks visibly deteriorated on the outside, with a lot of rust on its hull. This suggests a long period without maintenance after being inactive for so long.
