A former Zara employee has shared insider tips for navigating Inditex sales, revealing strategies like weekly price drops, category-specific discounts, and varying stock and prices between online and physical stores.

Sales are a favourite time for shoppers, offering the chance to buy items at great prices. Plus, there are some clever tricks that can help you save even more and find clothes you thought were no longer available.

A former Zara employee has shared some insider tips on how to get the best deals during sales, often applicable to "most Inditex stores." Using her experience, Miriam Cava (known as @miriam.cava online) explains how discounts work and which items are truly worth buying.

Miriam Cava explains that Zara doesn't have fixed "rounds" of sales, like first, second, or third price drops. Instead, prices are reduced every week, usually on a specific day. She can't reveal the exact day "due to legal reasons," but suggests that "if you're observant and visit the stores often, you'll figure it out."

Not all products go on sale at the same time. The former employee reveals that "one week you might find jeans discounted, and another week it could be dresses; you need to stay updated." This strategy is called "category sales."

Items like sequins, lingerie, or swimwear are often stored in the warehouse and aren't always displayed, Miriam Cava clarifies. This is because these are seasonal items that sell at specific times of the year.

If you've seen something you like, she advises checking its availability in a store first, and then going to your local branch to pick it up.

A crucial point is that most Inditex stores typically don't restock sold-out items, whether in physical shops or online. If a size or style sells out, it's usually gone for good. However, stock levels can vary between the website and physical stores, so she suggests checking both before giving up on an item.

During sales, prices online and in stores might not always be the same. Miriam concludes that "items could be discounted on the website before they are in-store, or vice versa. It's also possible for items to be sold out online but still available in-store, or sold out in-store but still online."
