Forest Fire Near Santa Cruz de Tenerife Causes Power Outages

A forest fire near the El Tablero area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife disrupted the local power supply early Wednesday morning. The fire broke out near a youth center on Anémona Street, prompting officials to immediately activate safety protocols to protect residents.

The Tenerife Fire Consortium and the Forest Brigades (Brifor) worked together to bring the blaze under control, supported by the Local Police, who established a security perimeter. An ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) was also on standby, though no injuries were reported.

The city council has confirmed the fire is now under control. However, the flames caused significant damage to local power lines, leading to outages. Technical teams are currently on-site assessing the damage and working to restore electricity.
