Heavy fog caused significant disruption at Seville Airport on Saturday morning, leading to 18 incoming flights being diverted.

Seventeen of these flights were rerouted to Malaga Airport. They originated from various Spanish cities, including Oviedo, Lanzarote, Ibiza, Tenerife South, Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, and Bilbao. International flights among them came from Istanbul (Turkey), Naples, Treviso, Bergamo, Trieste (Italy), Lisbon (Portugal), Edinburgh (Scotland), London (England), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Birmingham (United Kingdom).

The eighteenth flight, which had departed from Porto, was diverted to Faro Airport in Portugal.

The low visibility also affected other airports in Andalusia. Flights bound for Jerez from Madrid, and flights heading to Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén from Palma de Mallorca, Madrid, and Barcelona, were all diverted to Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport.

Airport operations returned to normal around 1:00 PM, and no major incidents were reported.
