FMAC Celebrates 20th Anniversary Across Canary Islands
The Canary Islands Alternative Music Festival (FMAC) will celebrate its 20th anniversary from November 1st to 15th, 2025, across several islands, featuring independent artists and diverse music styles.
The Canary Islands Alternative Music Festival (FMAC) is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of events across several islands from November 1st to 15th, 2025. Since it began, the festival has been a key platform for independent artists and new music styles in the Canary Islands. It marks two decades of history, showing its continued dedication to live music and a wide range of artistic talent.
Over the past 20 years, FMAC has visited all eight Canary Islands and showcased more than 380 musical acts. These have covered many different styles, including pop, reggae, funk, tango, rock, and experimental music.
This year's festival kicks off on November 1st at Aguere Cultural in Tenerife. The opening night will feature Common Goldfish, Pumuky, Naife, and a DJ set by Jeff Automatic. This event promises a mix of modern sounds and alternative energy, highlighting the vibrant music scene of the island. UK acts Common Goldfish and Jeff Automatic are joining the lineup as a special way to celebrate the festival's first 20 years.
Also in Tenerife, on November 8th, Magnum Pub will host the FMAC Anniversary Party. This special event will feature Tu Mierda Indie and a DJ set by Beatcreator, celebrating the independent spirit and the strong connection the festival has built with its audience over two decades.
The festival then moves to Gran Canaria on November 14th, with a performance by GAF y La Estrella de la Muerte at Sala Alboroto. This band is known for its experimental and psychedelic sound, making them one of the most iconic acts from the islands.
The closing event will be held on November 15th at Plaza El Almacén in Lanzarote. It will feature performances by Belice, Nave Rota, and a DJ set by Ariel Noure. This final stop reinforces FMAC's goal of connecting different islands and bringing alternative music to everyone across the Canary Islands.
Imoa Productions organizes the FMAC, with support from the Government of the Canary Islands, the Canary Institute of Cultural Development, and the Cabildo de Tenerife. Free tickets for some events will be available to download from www.tickety.es.
