Five Minor Earthquakes Near Enmedio Volcano
Five minor earthquakes, including a 1.7 magnitude tremor on Tuesday, have been detected near the Enmedio Volcano between Tenerife and Gran Canaria, an area known for frequent seismic activity.
Small earthquakes have been detected again near the Enmedio Volcano, located between the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. In recent days, five minor tremors have been recorded, according to seismic data.
The latest quake occurred on Tuesday, February 3, at 8:44 AM, with a magnitude of 1.7. Before this, four other tremors were picked up: one also at 1.7 on Monday afternoon (February 2), another at 1.5 that same morning, and two more, both 1.6, throughout Sunday (February 1).
These earthquakes occurred at various depths, with some more than 30 kilometers deep. This is typical for this part of the Canary Islands, where minor seismic activity, linked to the region's volcanic origins, happens frequently.
So far, there are no reports of anyone feeling these tremors or of any damage. Experts also point out that this kind of activity is common in the underwater region between Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
