Five people were injured in a two-car collision on the TF-652 near Costa del Silencio in Tenerife, renewing concerns over road safety in the region.
Road safety on secondary roads in southern Tenerife is back in the spotlight following a crash last Sunday night near the entrance to Costa del Silencio. According to the Canary Islands’ 112 emergency service, two cars collided on the TF-652, leaving five people injured. The incident has once again raised concerns about the safety of connecting roads in areas with high numbers of residents and tourists.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 11:00 p.m. A 51-year-old man was taken to Hospiten Sur University Hospital with moderate injuries. Four others—a two-year-old girl, a 67-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman, and a 31-year-old woman—were also taken to hospitals with minor injuries or for further assessment.
Arona Local Police are investigating the cause of the crash and managing traffic flow, while road maintenance crews worked to clear the site. Incidents like this often trigger reviews of road conditions, signage, and traffic volume, which are vital for preventing future accidents in busy areas like Arona.
