Five Injured After Car Overturns on Tenerife Road
Five people were injured after their vehicle overturned on the TF-65 in San Miguel de Abona, Tenerife, prompting an investigation by the Civil Guard.
A car crash early this morning in San Miguel de Abona, Tenerife, has once again drawn attention to the dangers of the island’s secondary roads. According to the Canary Islands' emergency services (Cecoes 112), five people were injured when their vehicle overturned on the TF-65.
The car veered off the road and flipped, but fortunately, all five occupants were able to climb out of the wreckage before emergency crews arrived. Firefighters from the Tenerife Consortium secured the vehicle, while three ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the injured at the scene.
Accidents on these smaller, winding roads are often linked to the island’s challenging terrain and driver fatigue—issues that authorities are working hard to address to improve road safety. The Civil Guard is currently investigating the exact cause of the crash. Traffic in the area has since returned to normal following the emergency response.
